Time for legal advice?

We’re on a mission to save bereaved families thousands in unnecessary legal fees. But sometimes there’s no way around it – you need a lawyer. Easy Ever After is not a substitute for legal advice, so we take care to identify estates that may be more complex. While there are any number of reasons you may need professional representation, the most common include;

  • Where the family disagrees about what happens next.
  • Where there is a Will and a family member doesn’t believe they got a fair share.
  • Where the deceased has assets that are still generating income, like investment properties or a business.
  • Where the deceased has complex assets or liabilities
  • If any companies require a court order (a ‘Grant of Representation’), which legally proves a person’s authority to act on behalf of the estate.

We can connect you with  pre-vetted legal professionals in each jurisdiction who can guide you through the next steps. A Grant of Representation is called ‘Probate’ if there was a Will, or ‘Letters of Administration’ if no Will. While you need a lawyer for the Grant, you can choose how much administration to hand over or take on yourself.

Easy Ever After may still be suitable for your family if you decide to take an active role in notifying organisations and closing down accounts. We close your access to AI tools by default as your estate is being overseen by a lawyer, however you may request AI tools are made available to you so that you can better understand the process.
